- 170 g AP Flour
- 140 g sugar
- 80 g cornmeal
- 1 egg
- 250 ml milk any kind
- 80 ml oil neutral, any kind
- 17 g baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp. butter salted or unsalted
Preheat oven to 400 F. Place greased cast iron or baking pan in oven.
Place the cornmeal, flour, salt, baking soda, sugar and cayenne pepper into a mixing bowl.
Add the egg, and mix.
Finally add the milk and oil. After mixing, pour into hot greased pan and cook until done.
Top hot cornbread with the butter.
