Best Shortbread Buttery Nutmeg Cookies
The most enjoyable morning or evening dessert to go with your favorite tea. Great for the holidays, great as a gift. Best Shortbread Buttery Nutmeg Cookies are all you need
Ingredients
- 140 g AP Flour
- 72 g raw sugar can be granulated
- 113 g unsalted butter
- ¼ tsp. salt
- â…› tsp. nutmeg
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add but and sugar together and whip.
- After creaming, add vanilla, salt and nutmeg, and continue to whip.
- Lastly, whip in the flour. After the flour is mixed in, the cookie dough should be pliable to roll. Roll and press or stamp (optional) to your desired sized (we made 8 decent sized cookies)1-inch apart on a lined baking sheet, then place in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 325° F.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the edge are brown, and the cookie is slightly firm to touch.
- Remove from oven and cool.
Notes
If you want to be fancy, dip the cookies in chocolate at least half-way and add sprinkles, or after pressing to your desired shape, add Turbinado sugar on top.
